We publish flash fiction, short stories, essays, and more. We're interested in reading any genre, from any age group.
Multiple submissions and simultaneous submissions are allowed. We don't currently request first time rights or any other type of rights. Although we don't care about rights issues, other journals may, so be sure to check out other guidelines before submitting. The satisfaction of seeing your words on the screen in front of you will, unfortunately, be your only payment at this time.
Send submissions or any questions to Underpants Publishing. Please put "Blog Submission" in the subject line and attach your work as .rtf files. Please include your name, email address, a short bio, and the title.
If we don't get back to you in 3 to 5 weeks, feel free to send a follow up inquiry.
By submitting your work, you are allowing Underpants Publishing to post your work on our blog. If you submit regularly, please check this page for updates as our guidelines are subject to change as we grow.
Submissions are now open for our first anthology, which will be done contest style. Submitting is free. The best story (most imaginative/well written/etc.) will not only receive a contributor's copy of the anthology, but will also win $25 dollars (payable via Paypal or Amazon gift card).
It is not necessary, but we encourage you to also submit a flash fiction piece to the blog. The more stories on the blog, the more viewers. This will help you later in the contest.
We will chose the best from the stories submitted and post a section of each of those stories on the blog on 03 September 2014. Readers will then comment on their favorites, and their reviews will help us decide the winner. However, the final decision belongs to the editors of Underpants Publishing. The full stories will be published in the anthology.
We accept short stories with a word count between 1000 and 2500. Please no simultaneous submissions.
Put "Anthology Submission" in the subject line. Work should be attached as an .rtf file, 12 pt. Times New Roman, double spaced. Please include your name, email address, a short bio, and the title (this doesn't affect your word count).
Submissions close 03 September 2014. Your submission will be responded to in 3 to 5 weeks. Accepted submissions will be rewarded with a free contributor's copy of the anthology. The anthology will be available on 15 October 2014.
